Barcelona is one of the nicest cities to visit. Its museums, theaters, art galleries and nightlife are of an impressive high standard. Besides that, this art and design centre has a lot of interesting sights to offer to its visitors. Walk along the Ramblas, a pedestrian street with dozens of outdoor cafes, to enjoy street musicians, living statues, flower-stands, book kiosks and small market stalls where they sell birds and small animals. Stroll the narrow winding streets of the 'Barri Gotic', the medieval Gothic quarter full of interesting tapas bars and cafes. Check out Picasso museum or even Picasso's old hangout, 'Els Quatre Gats', which has been renovated without losing its bohemian charm. Or head for the old Barceloneta section on the waterfront to enjoy the sea view and have a sunset drink at a 'chiringuito' bar by the beach. And of course, don't forget to visit some of Gaudi's modernist buildings, like the famous and yet unfinished 'Sagrada Familia' or the magnificent 'Casa Batllo' and 'La Pedrera' in the fashion center of the city, Passeig de Gracia. You can enjoy Barcelona at any time, although spring and early autumn are the best seasons, less crowded but still warm and shinny.
Include the two pictures from Barcelona.
MACOM 2010 will take place in the burgeoning 22@ innovation district in Barcelona. Its centric location, combined with the high density of universities, research institutes and technology- oriented companies, makes this the ideal spot for the event. The neighborhood has nice promenades and beaches to relax after technical sessions and it is also one of the main clubbing areas in the city. Address: Roc Boronat 138, 08018 Barcelona.
